IT Technical Architect – Operational Technologies (OT) | Shape the future of how natural gas systems operate.
Location: Tampa, Florida. This is a hybrid role with 4 days a week in the office. Relocation assistance negotiable.

We’re growing our Operational Technologies capabilities and looking for a Technical Architect who can elevate our SCADA, Gas Distribution, and Meter Measurement systems. This role has high visibility across IT, engineering, and gas operations — and real impact on the safety, reliability, and performance of critical infrastructure.
Requirements
What You’ll Do:
- Take ownership of the complete technical design for SCADA and Operational Technology (OT) systems.
- Lead the technical direction for system architecture, integration, and modernization efforts.
- Mentor teams and promote best practices for the design and implementation of OT systems.
- Collaborate closely with IT, business leaders, vendors, and engineering teams.
- Advocate for resilience, security, and high availability in system architecture.
- Influence long-term OT roadmaps and technology strategies.
- Assess system changes, evaluate associated risks, and ensure sound architectural decisions are made.
- Create and maintain standards, documentation, and frameworks for architecture.
What You Bring:
- Over 10 years of experience with SCADA systems, meter measurement, gas distribution, or industrial network systems.
- Deep expertise in SCADA platforms, Modbus, PLC concepts, and industrial networking.
- Strong SQL/database design and data modeling skills.
- Experience in designing SCADA systems, including RTUs, HMI, communication, and redundancy/high availability.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and enhance system performance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration abilities.
- Capacity to understand the "big picture" and guide long-term architectural vision.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards such as ISA 99/IEC 62443 and TSA requirements.
