Description
Technical Manager, Rockwell Automation, Inc., Milwaukee, WI:
Provide technical consultation and subject matter expertise to global clientele to solve challenging business problems. Develop innovative Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts based on client specifications. Assist with the allocation of tasks to team members and management of progress. Track team activities, report on usage of effort, and provide oversight and coaching to ensure project delivery remains within specified scope, on time, and on budget. Aid in the design, development, and deployment of custom solutions using best practice tools and techniques. Leverage skills in programming, networking, systems administration, and project management. Deliver solutions that help clients integrate strategy, process, technology, and information to increase effectiveness, reduce costs, promote accountability, and optimize performance. Communicate ideas, report status, and discuss activities with on-shore and off-shore development teams, project management, and customers. Collaborate in the creation of detailed design documentation, unit test plans, and well documented code. Work to resolve code related issues and defects through debugging and troubleshooting already existing codebases and solutions. Document working methods and lessons learned. Implement Windchill applications on multiple projects. Define requirements and approach for migration of data from other systems into a Windchill solution. Support the implementation, validation, and deployment of scalable, commercial solutions in a client-facing setting.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
Minimum Requirements:
Must have a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, or a related field, and 8 years of related work experience, of which 5 years must be progressive post-baccalaureate related work experience.
Alternatively, the employer will accept a master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, or a related field, and 6 years of related work experience.
Must have 6 years of experience in each of the following:
-
Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) modules, including Document Management, Bill of Material (BOM) Management, Engineering Change Management, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Data Management, and Reporting;
-
Windchill Migration processes utilizing Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM) modules;
-
Data Staging methodologies;
-
Database Administrator tasks such as administering database log space, tablespace conflicts, and broken indexes;
-
Extract, Transform, and Load (ELT) frameworks utilizing SQL scripting, Angular, or Python;
-
Customizing Windchill Workgroup Manager (WGP) software for integration with Creo, CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks;
-
Defining harmonized BOM processes with Top-Down and Bottom-Up approaches;
-
Software design and development tools, including Python, Java, RMI, EJB, JSP, Jscript, AngularJS, XML, XSLT, GWT[GXT], JMS, C, C++, OpenDJ, Eclips, InteliJ, GIT, SVN, Azure Pipeline, or Jenkins;

Windchill 11.0, 11.1, 12.0 12.1, or 13; and
-
Publishing Engine, PartsLink, Windchill DS, and Active Directory.
Must have 4 years of experience in each of the following:
-
Windchill technology, including abstraction modules, software architecture, system sizing techniques, setting-up application clusters, configuring custom queues for better performance, and clustering of publishing workers;

Windchill Manufacturing Process Management processes utilizing Engineering Bill of Materials (eBOM), Manufacturing Bill of Materials (mBOM), BOM Transformation Techniques, BOM Filtering, Bill of Process (BOP) Structure, Plant Layout Techniques, and Shopfloor Data Sharing; and
-
Developing applications using Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, or SAFE.
100% telecommuting permitted; candidate may reside anywhere in the U.S.
International travel required up to 25%; Domestic travel required up to 25%.
