What You Will Do:
- Meet with clients, design staff and landowners to discuss project impacts to parcels and address landowners' concerns.
- Complete field title investigations, present offers of compensation and negotiate settlements.
- Research property ownership, set up parcel files, notarize documents, assist in project management tracking.
- Draft conveyance documents and obtain mortgage releases
- Relocation tasks will include:
- Meeting with displaced property owners and tenants
- Providing referrals, preparation of relocation claims,
- Coordination of move estimates
- Maintenance of the project spreadsheets for our clients
What You Will Bring:
- Associates degree in business, planning, construction, survey or a closely related field or one or more years of right of way related experience; such as, right of way acquisition or management, relocation, title examination, and right of way analysis
- Minnesota Real Estate License and Public Notary License in MN or ability to attain within 6 months of hire
- Additional licenses preferred in WI, IA, ND & SD
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Skill in conflict resolution including the ability to address difference of opinions or facts and use the most appropriate method to reach an effective solution
- Ability to work independently, communicate and document effectively, handle large volumes of work
- Effectively balance office and field work in a collaborative and deadline-sensitive manner
- Willingness to travel within Minnesota and to out-state projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with GIS, Microsoft Office Products and various databases
- Knowledge, experience, and contacts in right of way work related to Transportation and Utility/ Transmission Line Projects.
- MnDOT REALMS software experience
- Acquisition experience in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota and/or North Dakota
- Knowledge of acquisition and relocation procedures under the Uniform Relocation Act
- Ability to work in the posted location
