The Office of the University Registrar advances the institutional mission and facilitates student success through the delivery of a broad variety of academic services to the Pitt community.
This position provides front-line support for the Office of the University Registrar (OUR), managing multiple communication channels, including email inboxes, phones, and in-person inquiries. The role involves assisting students, faculty, and staff with registration troubleshooting, processing enrollment and student record updates, and handling various academic requests such as add/drops, withdrawals, and credit adjustments.
Job Summary
Advises students and prospective students on admissions, financial aid, academic requirements, career development, and/or campus activities. Assists in implementation of program activities. Works with Admissions and Career Services to provide quality program information and administer multiple types of information sessions. Corresponds with those seeking admissions standards and academic and non-academic programs. Assists with special projects and coordination of objectives.
Essential Functions
Monitor the OUR, Registration (REG), and Pittsburgh Council on Higher Education (PCHE) inboxes and phones. Provide front counter service; assist students, staff and faculty with general and registration-related inquiries. Assist OUR student workers with questions and support. Manage registration requests from email and OneDrive, including add/drop/swaps, credit adjustments, withdrawals, grade option changes, resignations, and block enrollments. Process student bio/demo updates such as name, SSN, date of birth, citizenship, ethnicity, and gender corrections. Handle FERPA request forms, social security discrepancy requests, and PCHE cross-registration submissions. Input and enroll English Language Institute (ELI) students in PeopleSoft
Physical Effort
This is a fairly sedentary position. Ability to sit at a desk for periods of time and to handle such things as telephone and computer. Ability to communicate via phone, email and virtual platforms. Ability to attend meetings in person or virtually.
